Sandi is a graduate of Pacifica Graduate Institute, holding a Master of Arts in Counseling with Emphasis in Depth Psychology. Depth Psychology honors material found in the unconscious. The unknown parts of ourselves that Carl Jung called Shadow are revealed in our relationships, our problems, and our dreams.
Sandi’s love of metaphorical work combines with her love of theology. She holds a Masters of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Seminary Program of the Southwest and is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church with over 20 years experience working with families, adolescents, and children. She is also an experienced professional educator working with special needs children and their families.
She is faith sensitive, honoring the many spiritual paths. Sandi is also a professional educator with a BS of Education from University of Texas. She taught Special Education in Texas school districts for ten years.
Sandi has experience working with children, family systems, couples, the elderly, groups and bereaved. She is especially interested in the dynamics found in transitional crossroads of life such as divorce, bereavement, and career changes. She believes that healing can be found in stories. Stories—be they in dreams, books, films, ancient myths, the Bible, or personal life—reveal the structuring patterns of the unconscious that Jung called archetypes. She feels privileged to provide a safe environment where clients can tell and explore their own personal histories, imaginings, disappointments, and new insights, and in that process find options and healing.
“Your vision will become clear
Only when you look into your heart.
Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens.”
— Carl Jung
